About CASK
Consumer Association of Saskatchewan (CASK) is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization that represents and informs consumers and advocates action on their behalf. CASK is committed to fairness in the marketplace and to improving the quality of life for all Saskatchewan consumers.
We inform and educate people about consumer rights and protection through our publication SaskWatch reporting on many different topics, including: scams and identity theft, truth in advertising, being a conscientious consumer, financial issues or concerns, buying local, health & safety concerns, and the environment.
CASK is based in Saskatoon and services all of Saskatchewan.
If you experience problems in the marketplace, have a complaint about a product, or if you need information on your rights and responsibilities, contact us below.
CASK's Strategic Plan
In April 2023, CASK announced plans to close their physical office and move to an online presence while reimagining their newsletter. Their new strategic plan focuses on strengthening resources, improving public engagement, and expanding board diversity while maintaining their core mission of advocating for Saskatchewan consumers’ rights.
The Importance of Advocacy
Why Consumer Advocacy Matters
Consumer advocacy plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in Saskatchewan. By championing consumer rights, we help to ensure that businesses operate ethically and that consumers are treated fairly. Effective advocacy leads to better products and services, improved safety standards, and greater accountability in the marketplace. Ultimately, our efforts contribute to a more just and equitable society where every consumer can thrive.
We support the belief in universal consumer rights to safety, to be informed, to choose, to be heard, to consumer education and to redress. These rights provide the benchmark for our positions on legislation, regulations and performance of the marketplace.
