Consumer Association of Saskatchewan Inc.

Founded in 1947 as the Consumers’ Association of Canada (Saskatchewan Branch) Inc. as a non-profit, volunteer-driven association, committed to fairness in the marketplace and to improving the quality of life for all consumers.

Since October 2010 the Association is registered in Saskatchewan as Consumer Association of Saskatchewan Inc. or short CASK and continues to operate on behalf of, and provides services to all Saskatchewan consumers. The Association has members from many areas of the province and is run by a volunteer board.

CASK produces a quarterly newsletter SaskWatch that is mailed to all members and subscription holders. Complimentary copies are sent to relevant government departments, other non-profit associations and distributed through the regional library system.

CASK supports the belief in universal consumer rights to safety, to be informed, to choose, to be heard, to consumer education, to a healthy environment and to redress. These universal rights provide the basis for our positions on legislation, regulations, and action performance in the marketplace.

Our Mission

We are a voluntary, non-profit organization that represents and informs consumers and advocates action on their behalf to improve the quality of life of Saskatchewan residents.

Objectives of CASK

• To improve the quality of life in Canadian homes
• To unite the strength of consumers
• To study consumer problems and make recommendations for their resolution
• To bring consumers’ views and needs to the attention of governments, business, trade and industry
• To provide information on consumers’ rights and responsibilities in the marketplace
• To provide information on consumer products and services

Consumer Help Office

The Consumer Association of Saskatchewan Inc. operates an office in Saskatoon, which services all of Saskatchewan. If you experience a problem in the marketplace, if you want to check into a product prior to purchasing or if you need information on your rights and responsibilities in the marketplace, phone or write our office.
